New Home
I've decided to move over to Wordpress despite the fact that I think blogspot has a friendlier UI. I just wanted to try it out and I wanted to make a place where I can combine my art blog with my personal blog (after all, all my art is personal anyway, at least to me ;) ). I may not like it, and then I'll come back, but in the meantime, I can be found at nifsart.wordpress.com. Seeya there!

McGruff Needs a Home
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
This handsome little guy needs a home. He's kind of shy and skittish, due to being feral for the first 4 weeks of his life. He's just learning how to play with people and still isn't too sure of them. He hisses but it's all show. He loves his tummy petted and his head. He likes fuzzy soft mice and string. He's catbox trained. He'd probably be most comfortable in a house with no other pets or maybe only one other cat. He's been tested negative for FIV.

Broken Promises?
Wow. I am soooo tired. I totally understand that whole chicken with the head cut off thing. Anyway, I told myself, and you, I'd have something to post once a week at least. And I guess I'm barely squeaking one in this week, but it kind of feels like a cheat, since it's totally not what I had planned to post.
I am still working on my friends wedding gift (piece of art from me- their request), not to mention actually being in the wedding has me doing stuff to get ready and going to rehearsals. Click on this link to see how cute they are :D
I did manage to pencil my first comic, rough sketch only. It's just a little series I am thinking of. I don't think it's always going to be funny, but just a way to make visual the random thoughts that go through my head. Well, I will definitely have that ready next week.
AND getting my foster kittens ready to go to the rescue group (Cat Adoption Service here in San Diego). They're about 9-10 weeks now. We rescued them from a feral mom. So we had socializing and vaccines and spaying and vet visits (and also got some cages and caught a feral for neutering; still have about 8 more ferals to catch) ...and today I dropped them off at the La Jolla Petsmart for the rescue's adoption event. Here's hoping they find great homes :D
So my contribution this week are these pics I took of my little monsters. This is Peanut, Butter, and Jelly, in that order.

I take damn good kitten pics ;)
Let's hope next week slows down a little. And, fyi, I've got some major house cleaning to do to get ready to find a new roommate. My roomy Mike bought his own condo. Yay more stuff to take away art time :(

Welcome to San Diego Comic-Con 2010!
Hi!
If you're the one person who liked my art (dire predictions of the future ;P) and decided to stop by here, then thank you SO MUCH. I live my life to have someone look at something I've created and say to themselves "Hey that's interesting. I want to see more." I think that's pretty much the goal of most artists...ok, with a smattering of financial gain and getting published/in a gallery/acquiring a fan base too. But mostly just making people happy/interested/feel something. OK, yes, I'm babbling again. I really should stop blogging past midnight *yawn*.
I think the one thing I'm worried about most is people looking here and seeing not much up. I must confess, this blog is relatively new, thus the lack of content. But there are plans!
1.) Continued work with Illustration Friday. It's really good practice and just fun to look at as well. And I've already met some interesting artists. I'll probably mostly be doing digital work for that.
2.) Catching up and continued participation with Daily Shoot. Yes, photography is only a hobby at this point, but I can feel what I am learning from that, in regards to lighting and composition, bleeding into other areas. And on that note...
3.) I'll be taking a photography class this fall (I hope), so I'll probably be subjecting people to my homework and assignments. ^.^
4.) a small series involving animals doing improbable things. That will most likely involve pen and ink and possibly color pencil and be hand rendered.
5.)sketches due by Jan 15th for the Sketchbook Project.
...and who knows what else?! My mind is always coming up with new ideas.
So if you stopped by here because you picked up my bookmark and you're curious, come back again! I promise there will be something new at least once a week :)

A New Project & Other Plans
I have a lot on my plate right now...good thing I am hungry.
Comic-con is coming up here in July. I'm supposed to have stuff ready but I don't think I will. But I'll see if I can get at least one decent pic ready.
One of my favorite cousins is preggers and I said something about drawing some pics for her nursery.
I just signed up for the Sketchbook Project.
And somehow I want to participate in Illustration Fridays without access to photoshop.
Also, Mai's wedding is in August and I need to make a painting for her since that's what she requested as a present. I don't think I'll have it ready but we'll see.
Oh! And I just got a new easel which puts pressure on me to start painting again.
All in all this is good stuff. Important stuff. Better stuff to be doing with my life than another WoW raid.
